Interactive space

My interactive space project was little challenging for me. I had so many ideas at first but most of them are really difficult to approach. I introduced to the social networking websites for teenage girls name stardoll.com in which you can create avatar and dress them up. It’s hard to believe that this website is actually every popular. It probably because of the fact that real figures and celebrities have account there so you can visit their page and dress them up and stuff like that. Also I saw this video about shopping in future which was so interesting. So I wanted to design something similar to that but turns out it was more difficult than I thought. My models must stay still so the 2 picture before and after they change clothes looks the same. As result I force to change my idea. I decided to take picture of different people face and ask them to change their expression. I did some research and found out there is al ready a website which done the same thing. Finally I decided to divide my first page to 4 different sections. It was easier to design the pages this way and also it’s different from the …. Website.
I take picture of my friend’s faces as well as mine. Use Photoshop to edit the faces which was so difficult and took me lot of time. I had some problem using the Dream weaver so I visit Simon to ask him about how to linking the page and other stuff. My work is not narrative, but it hopefully amusing for users to use.

I visited Nottingham Contemporary last weekend with my friends. I loved some of the pieces in the gallery but they didnt let me take photograph :(. Anyway, last wednsday i attented a lecture at Newton Building (lecture theater 1). The cool thing is that each week one of the artist at british art show 7 will give lecture about their work. Last week it was a guy named Edgar Schmitz. It was a little boring for me. I was sketching the whole time. Honesly I didnt like his work.

Tribute to Marzieh

After battling with cancer for several months,
Marzieh died two weeks ago at the age of 83 at a hospital in Paris.

I grew up with her voice in my ear. Her songs always remind me of Family and our home in Mashhad.

In early 90s she start living in France and she was an active member of Mojahedin.

RIP

My multimedia

One of the new technologies which interest me is Hologram. It is not really a new technology because it was possible to create 3D holographic picture of a static object since the 1960s, however it is only in the last few years that arbitrary scenes or videos can be shown on a holographic volumetric display.
Hologram usage is very popular in science fiction movie. For instance we all remember it in Star wars and star Trek. Many artists saw the potential of holography as a medium and gained access to science laboratories to create their work. Salvador Dali claimed to have been the first to employ holography artistically. But it didn’t catch my attention until CNN use it for the first time on television and brings its reporter to the stage.
Here is how it works:
• 35 HD cameras pointed at the subject in a ring
• Different cameras shoot at different angles (like the matrix), to transmit the entire body image
• The cameras are hooked up to the cameras in home base in NY, synchronizing the angles so perspective is right
• The system is set up in trailers outside Obama and McCain HQ
• Not only is it mechanical tracking via camera communication, there's infrared as well
• Correspondents see a 37-inch plasma where the return feed of the combined images are fed back to them. Useful for a misplaced hair or an unseemly boogar
• Twenty "computers" are crunching this data in order to make it usable

Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Scott Pilgrim vs The World is a fun, entertaining movie By Edgar Wright, the director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, based on the graphic novel series by Bryan Lee O'Malley. Seeing this fiction on big screen was so inspiring and enjoyable. From the bouncy soundtrack by Beck and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich to different visual effects (the letters 'R-r-r-ing’ stream out of a dialled telephone; purple hearts emerge from Ramona’s purple hair when she kisses Pilgrim) all seems so relavent to what we are doing (I think :D).

This Surreal comedy- romance movie with pop-cultural references to Pac-Man, Dance Dance Revolution is a story of 23 year-old boy (played by Michael Cera) bass player from Toronto who falls in love with an Amazon special delivery girl named  Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and in order to date her, he has to defeat her seven evil X’s.
Over all, one of the best video game movie you can get.

design process

I choose one of my previous works, which was designing an accessory for psycho personality. I am going to show different stages of my design process from research and sketching to developing and problem solving.
First step was brain storming my ideas. I was writing and sketching and documenting everything that seems interesting and relevant to my design. I was thinking about material, colour, shape and body part which this accessory will be connect to.
Then I start researching artists and their works. While I was researching different styles of designing jewellery and accessory I was inspired by the shapes and design of fly’s eyes. So I decided to make a glasses which looks like a fly’s eyes.

I use 3D glasses and cover it with wire. The reason that I chose wire is that wire is shiny and flexible which makes it easy to work with and it also asthmatic. Then I cover the glasses with pills, because psycho people usually take pills. At last I painted the pills to look like diamonds.

Problem solving:
I don’t have enough material so I cut out some part of my design. As result I could be able to make it with less time and money.

After I finish my design I ask people to wear it to see if it is comfortable or not.
At last I made a short clip to present my work.

This is one of my work which I did in collage. same technic. I made it with taking lots of photos. It took me a week to make it. Its a little slow motion here I dont know why?

pinehole camera

So we made Pinehole camera in the class. Its a simple camera with no lens or shutter or anything. It was fun at first. But after I failed to get any picture I felt so frustrated. I tried three times, But I couldn't get any clear picture. I also cut my hand three time.

I guess I  appreciate my digital camera way more now.
